Matthew Waisnor to Chair Associate Member Committee

Matthew E. Waisnor, Joseph J. Blake & Associates has stepped up to lead the AIDC Associate Member Committee. The committe's role is to

  • Discuss issues impacting Associate Members and provide recommendations to other bodies as appropriate;
  • Work to enhance communications among Associate Members of the Chapter and between Associate Members and the Regional and national organizations;
  • Work with the Chapter Associate Member Guidance Committee to encourage Associate Members to complete the designation process; and
  • Work to develop future leaders for the Chapter and the organization as a whole.

Matt shared the following personal message regarding his initial  goals for the committee.

"As Chair of the Chapter Associate Member Committee, I would like to improve the chapter as a whole through improved processes and communication between the associate and designated level. As an associate member working towards my designation, I have found it difficult to balance working as a full time commercial appraiser and taking AI classes.  By creating this position as a liaison between associate and designated members, associate members will be able to have input to the chapter as a whole and get advice while working towards the designation.  I'd also like to receive any input from designated members on their experiences as associate members that they would consider beneficial to current associates.  Also, an improved effort in social media (facebook, linked in, etc.) will make this communication process a lot easier on a regional and national level.  As a result of improved communication between associates and designated members, more leaders could potentially emerge from within the institute as the chapter's information flow improves and becomes more transparent.  The creation of this position will be highly beneficial to the chapter and I look forward to hearing from any members with advice, questions, or concerns."

You can share your thoughts with Matt and/or indicate a desire to work with him on the committee by sendig an email to associate@appraisalinstitutedc.org.
